A mysterious man known as “The Professor” is planning the biggest heist in history: to break into the National Mint and print 2.4 billion euros, hoping it will be the perfect heist. To carry out this ambitious plan, he recruits a team of eight people with certain skills and who have nothing to lose. They, together with the professor, will plan every step of the heist for five months. This team, with names from different cities around the world, requires eleven days of confinement in the Factory, during which they will have to deal with the elite forces of the police and sixty-seven hostages.
The protagonists are dressed in red coveralls and Salvador Dalí masks. These would become the insignia of the series. Initially, it was considered to use Don Quixote masks, but Dalí was preferred for being “more iconic and much more modern.”[32]
Netflix acquired the rights to stream the series and distributed the first two parts on its streaming service on December 25, 2017 worldwide.[9] However, instead of retaining the original nine episodes and the 70-minute runtime of each season episode, it was split into 13 different untitled episodes, each lasting 40-50 minutes.

After five months of preparation, the assailants arrive at the Madrid Mint Museum. Among the hostages is Alison Parker, daughter of the British ambassador, who serves as bait for negotiations between The Professor and the authorities.
For his part, Denver ends up falling in love with Monica, one of the kidnapped women. Meanwhile, Raquel Murillo, the inspector on the case, is unknowingly dating the ringleader of the case. Arturo, one of the hostages, declares war on the assailants, which complicates his plans and he thinks of organizing an escape.
Angel soon finds out the true identity of the Professor on his own, but a fatal accident leaves him in a coma and prevents him from revealing the truth. Finally, the police discover the house where the leader of the group instructed his team before carrying out the robbery.

The heist carried out by the main characters, in the third season we see their new lives after one of the biggest heists in history.  The Professor, Denver, Tokyo, Rio, Nairobi, Helsinki, Inspector Murillo and Monica Gaztambide are in different parts of the world and seem to be living the time of their lives, although everything will change when soldiers from various forces try to capture them, putting the survival of the gang on a fine line.
