Star wars: the force awakens
On September 22nd we have a new date with the Star Wars universe. This time the prism from which we are going to look at that world will be very different from what we are used to. To begin with, it is an animated series. But we’re not talking about 3D animation. We know that Lucasfilm already has a long tradition in that field.
We are talking about traditional animation. And moreover, animation from the land of the rising sun. We are talking about anime. The production company founded by George Lucas has created an anthology bringing together seven of the most reputable studios in Japan to create nine stories that take place in the Star Wars universe but far from the Skywalker family. Studio Trigger, for its part, has produced series such as Kill la Kill and Little Witch Academia, as well as having collaborated on projects such as Sword Art Online and the Cartoon Network series Steven Universe.
A total of seven animation studios are part of this project. Below is the complete list of episodes that make up Star Wars: Visions as well as the studios responsible for each one.
In this preview, we can see animation styles diametrically different from each other, from the most cartoonish to the darkest; presenting, in addition, completely new characters that will expand the current canon and will also be involved in timelines never explored before.
“(The) stories showcase the full spectrum of bold storytelling found in Japanese animation; each told with a freshness and voice that expands our understanding of what a Star Wars story can be, and celebrates a galaxy that has been a great inspiration to many visionary storytellers.”

As we already knew, the premiere of ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’ is expected to be next December 20, 2019. Date on which not only the film is released, but also puts a period to the Skywalker saga in the Star Wars universe.
LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens: Holiday Special is coming soon, premiering on the same day Disney+ will be released in Latin America, December 17. In the voice cast we will be able to hear some of the original cast members, such as Kelly Marie Tran, Anthony Daniels and Billy Dee Williams. Although some of the voices sound similar, the participation of Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac or John Boyega, or other actors from the saga, has not been confirmed.
This is the second holiday special that has been made for Star Wars, after the infamous 1978 special that has been tried to be erased from history, but has left its mark after all and now even a sequel. The official synopsis reads:
