The boring company flamethrower

Plants vs. zombies 2: it’s about time

Many of us might think that this is just another Elon Musk prank and that he is playing with us, but just remember that all of Elon’s supposed pranks have ended in something real, from recyclable rockets, to selling autographed caps, to sending his Tesla Roadster to Mars. So the flamethrower sale has all the makings of a reality.

It sounded like a far-fetched promise, but come on, that’s the way Musk has always been. Elon Musk claimed that if he sold 50,000 Boring Company caps, the next thing on the market would be a flamethrower. And so it was, by December 24, all the caps had been sold and the CEO was assuring us that flamethrowers were on the way. Of course we all thought it was a joke. How wrong we were (once again).

Well, after selling the first caps in record time, Musk decided it would be a good idea to set a quantity which came to 50,000 caps at $20, or $1 million. Which, again, were sold in record time.

The Boring Company currently has active construction, or approved plans in place, in at least two areas of the United States, on opposite coasts. They have also been selected to build a loop between downtown and the airport by a government program for high-speed transportation in Chicago.

In February 2019, San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo announced that he had held discussions with The Boring Company about a link between San Jose International Airport and Diridon Station, as an alternative to a traditional rail link that had cost $800 million.[19] In February 2019, San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo announced that he had held discussions with The Boring Company about a link between San Jose International Airport and Diridon Station, as an alternative to a traditional rail link that had cost $800 million.[19

A flamethrower, the latest invention of elon musk

However, this pharaonic project, of which little had been said since its birth, has made headlines around the world when it suddenly turned over a million dollars selling caps and three million dollars selling flamethrowers, and we fear that by the time you read these lines these figures will have doubled, at least.

The flamethrower thing sounds like a joke, I know, and even more so if we take into account everything that has happened in the United States with unbalanced people shooting anyone who gets in their way with semi-automatic rifles. But it was Musk himself who at the end of January appeared with the gadget in question in a tweet and that was the trigger for the demand for the flamethrower to become a reality, adding orders one after another.

And more than one will ask: What do flamethrowers have to do with the world of excavation? At first glance, not much, but I’m sure Musk would give you a perfectly plausible answer if you asked him about it. And if not, who cares?  At this point it seems to be clear that Musk can do whatever he wants and whatever it is will surely be successful. More than a few people consider him a true genius of marketing and self-promotion. His trips to Mars, his autonomous cars, his cities where everything runs on solar energy, etc… end up being the perfect excuses to keep people talking about him. The product is good and revolutionary, no one doubts it, but what is really not only good but brilliant, and not only revolutionary but visionary, is the guy behind those ideas. Musk is the real company, his ideas and projects are the proofs of his genius, proofs with which he anticipates a better and more sustainable world.

Next to the flamethrower is also offered an extinguisher that costs 30 dollars, about 24 euros. The price of both products does not include taxes and shipping costs. In addition, especially for international orders, an extra fee may apply, which will be considered by customs. These costs must be borne by the buyer outside the fixed price of the items.

The idea aims to give visibility to Elon Musk’s startup that, until now, was quite unknown. And the fact is that the tycoon has succeeded, together with the caps, the flamethrower and the fire extinguisher, in obtaining a means of financing that is based on the basic idea of selling items with the company’s logo. Nothing more, nothing less.
